Nigerian-American artist Zaamwé, based in Maryland, has released a new single titled Summer Sun, an Afrobeats track influenced by soukous and alternative African sounds.

The song explores emotional uncertainty in love, focusing on the experience of waiting in limbo for a response from someone. It draws inspiration from the biblical stories of Samson and Uriah, using their narratives of love, loyalty, and sacrifice as a thematic backdrop for its bittersweet tone.
It follows a long-running catalog that includes Cool Cool EP, My Friend Ruby EP, and the album Lemonadé.

Born to Nigerian parents of Esan and Delta heritage, Zaamwé (Ihide Ehikhamenor) has been active as a recording artist since 2016, alongside work as a filmmaker and visual artist. Summer Sun continues his focus on merging diaspora identity with African-rooted musical styles.
Summer Sun by Zaamwé is now available on all streaming platforms.
