Kings X Priests have unveiled Sunset Sermon (Deluxe), an immersive body of work that blends soulful house music with themes of faith, spirituality, and praise.
The deluxe album features 20 tracks that expand on the group’s now-signature sound: spiritual house music designed for both reflection and the dance floor.
Speaking on the vision behind the project, Dr Chad Mathinussen, founder of the Kings X Priests movement, explains:
“Sunset Sermon was never meant to be just an album. It’s a movement, a sound that creates space for people to encounter God in places they may not traditionally expect on the dance floor, at sunset, in moments of joy and surrender. House music has always been spiritual at its core, and this project is about reclaiming that truth.”
Dr Mathinussen adds that the deluxe edition was intentionally expanded to deepen the listener’s experience:
“The deluxe version allowed us to tell the full story, from praise and prayer to struggle, restoration, and victory. Every track is intentional. Whether someone is dancing, driving, or praying, this music meets them where they are.”
The project has already begun resonating beyond music circles. South African rugby icons Siya Kolisi and Vincent Tshituka sparked widespread attention after Kolisi shared the Kings X Priests song “Come Again” on Instagram. Olympic champion Wayde van Niekerk has also publicly shown support for the album,
Sunset Sermon (Deluxe) by Kings X Priests is out now on all platforms.
