Christopher Carr Releases Neoclassical Single “Anastasis” Ahead of Upcoming Album, Features Religious-Themed Cover Art

French neoclassical composer Christopher Carr has released a new single titled “Anastasis”, which also serves as the lead track for his upcoming album of the same name. The piece has been available on streaming platforms since March 6, 2026.

Built within a neoclassical framework, “Anastasis” draws influence from established composers in the genre, including Arvo Pärt, Ludovico Einaudi, and Max Richter. The track follows a familiar structure for modern classical releases: a minimal, delicate introduction that gradually builds into a more layered and intense arrangement.

Carr has stated that significant attention was given to the string recordings, which form the core texture of the composition. The production leans on slow development and repetition, aiming for atmosphere rather than traditional melodic progression.

The title “Anastasis,” a Greek word meaning “resurrection” or “rising”, reflects the central theme of the piece—inner recovery and transformation after difficulty. The track is positioned around ideas of renewal and emotional rebuilding, though it remains largely instrumental in its delivery.

The cover artwork has also drawn attention, featuring a depiction of Jesus Christ wearing a crown of thorns with visible blood imagery. The visual choice aligns with the themes of suffering and resurrection referenced in the title, though it may be interpreted differently by listeners depending on context and sensitivity to religious symbolism.

In a brief statement, Carr described the composition as a reflection on uncertainty and the idea of finding hope through change, framing the piece as a response to difficult personal and global conditions.

“Anastasis” continues his development of a neoclassical sound identity focused on cinematic structure and emotional pacing, though it does not significantly depart from the stylistic conventions associated with contemporary piano-led classical music.

  • Emmy Award Winner Dustin O’Halloran Shares Unheard Track “Fragile N.1” Ahead of Lumière Reissue

Emmy Award Winner Dustin O’Halloran Shares Unheard Track “Fragile N.1” Ahead of Lumière Reissue

Acclaimed composer Dustin O’Halloran has released “Fragile N.1,” a previously unheard track recorded during the sessions for his 2011 album Lumière.

The track is one of four archival pieces included in an expanded reissue of Lumière, arriving in celebration of the album’s 15th anniversary. These recordings, drawn from the original creative period, offer a closer look into the atmospheric and minimalist world that defined the project.

Originally developed during and after O’Halloran’s work on the soundtrack for Marie Antoinette, “Fragile N.1” carries the same delicate, cinematic quality that shaped much of the Lumière era. Built around restrained piano work and subtle tonal shifts, the piece explores ideas of fragility, innocence, and emotional texture through minimal but expressive composition.

Alongside “Fragile N.1,” the reissue also features three additional pieces: the unreleased piano composition “Timothy Is Sleeping,” a remix of “We Move Lightly,” and a demo recording of “Opus 43,” each expanding the sonic world of the original album.

With this release, Emmy Award winner, Lumière is revisited not only as a landmark record in O’Halloran’s catalogue, but as a deeper archive of a highly focused creative period.

  • French Composer  Mark J SOLER Shares New Instrumental “Lazy song” off his ‘Walks’ EP

French Composer  Mark J SOLER Shares New Instrumental “Lazy song” off his ‘Walks’ EP

French  Musician and composer Mark J SOLER  has released a new single ‘Lazy Song’, a three-minute instrumental piece inspired by relaxing moments, conducive to inner thoughts, and of course Music as the conductor toward a form of ‘spirituality’.

“Lazy Song” was composed, played, and produced to sound like a slightly hypnotic jazz groove, deliberately laid back, like time stretching out over a solitary, quiet evening. The piano’s slightly off-sync phrasing aims to give a dreamy, drowsy sway, creating a psychedelic lounge atmosphere that’s both playful and disorienting.

“That was the intent in any case,” explains Mark. “With a simple melody to convey the introspective nature of such moment.

“Lazy Song” is part of a short EP, Walks, gathering three different styles of instrumental songs, all inspired by the ‘inner life’ idea, i.e. reproducing the world in thoughts, through Introspection, Solitude, Meditation… on Desires, Regrets, Acceptance, Nostalgia.. there are many aspects of it, making spirituality, Music being its natural language.

The second song in the EP is “Walking in the City”.

“Walking is known as one of the best remedies to evacuate dark thoughts and get back to a positive inner vision of the external world. I live near Paris. I walk a lot in the city that communicates its energy and beauty.”

The third title is called “Inner Life”, about prayer.
