Fusing smooth Afrobeats, dancehall, and R&B influences, “The Best I Know” is a lyrical exploration of life’s cycles—of love
lost and found, of growth, of the moments that bring us back to where we began, but with new eyes.
The Nigerian-born artist who lives in Wrexham, Wales, describes his sound as one that feels both intimate and universal.
“This song represents coming full circle—not just in relationships, but in personal growth. It’s about seeing everything with new clarity, embracing who you’ve become,” he says.
Produced and mixed by Shifu “The Best I Know” arrives as the lead single from Escaphini’s upcoming EP, set to drop later this year.
Marking his most reflective work in the past year, “Be Kind” delves deep into the emotional terrain of time’s passage and the universal fear and acceptance of outgrowing one’s prime, whilst also saying that he will not be running after time.
Unlike its energetic 120 BPM rhythm might suggest, the song is not a celebration but a poignant meditation.
In “Be Kind,” Time itself is personified: Nelz addresses Time directly in heartfelt lyrics, asking it to show compassion to the new generation.
The track’s chill, introspective vibe, paired with its undeniable groove, captures a rare blend of vulnerability and rhythm.
It’s the tenth single of the year by the prolific Nigerian-born music minister after “Onyeoma (Good God)”, “Sugar in my Heart”, “Flowers”, “Grace Love Money”, “Breakthrough”, “Rock and Shelter”, “E Give Me Bakery” and “Your Love”
The single serves as another taster of what’s in store from A!MS’ upcoming album entitled ‘Peak Season.
“Need Somebody” delivers a bold message of escape, safety, upliftment, and cultural fusion produced by Columbia’s Golden Boy and Stige contributing to the writing.
Previous single “Light & Love” with Julian Marley has already amassed over 5 million hits across all platforms and alongside the album it is officially being submitted for GRAMMY consideration in the Best Global Music Performance category.
