Nigerian-American singer and songwriter Bimi has released “For Life,” the lead single from her three-song EP, “FEVR.”
The song explores commitment, chemistry and the point at which an attraction develops into a deeper connection. “For Life” introduces the concept behind “FEVR,” which uses the idea of a fever to represent different stages and feelings associated with attraction.
Bimi described the song as representing the point when the initial intensity of attraction has settled into a warmer, more sustained feeling. The EP also includes “Brand New” and “Say Please.”
Born in Lagos and raised in Chicago, Bimi draws from African music as well as the R&B and pop influences from her upbringing in the United States.
