    Italian producer Piero Farho has released “I Got U Today”, an Afro House collaboration with Aluwell and Untitled Audio.

    The track is built around driving Afro House rhythms, layered drums and melodic elements, with a vocal performance providing its emotional centre. The arrangement moves between rhythmic sections and more expansive melodic passages.

    “I Got U Today” brings together elements associated with Farho’s previous releases “Time” and “Slips Away”, while incorporating the contributions of Aluwell and Untitled Audio.

    Aluwell is one half of South African DJ and production duo Major League DJz, whose work has been closely associated with the development of Amapiano and African electronic music.

    Ramiro Naka revisits Guinean classic “Nha Indimigo” with Patche di Rima

    Guinea-Bissau singer Ramiro Naka has released “Nha Indimigo”, a new version of the Guinean classic featuring Patche di Rima.

    Released on August 14, the track draws from the traditional Goumbé sound of Guinea-Bissau while incorporating a contemporary production. Fred Laser produced and arranged the new version.

    Naka’s career is closely associated with Goumbé music and the wider Lusophone African music scene. Born in Guinea-Bissau, he began performing with groups including Cobiana Jazz and Nkassa Cobra before developing an international career in Lisbon and Paris.

    His work has also extended beyond music. Naka appeared as the lead actor in Flora Gomes’ Po di Sangui, which was selected for the 1996 Cannes Film Festival.

    In 2025, Naka returned to recorded music with “Tchon Tchoma”, a collaboration with Tabanka Djaz that received radio play across Guinea-Bissau, Angola, Portugal, Cape Verde and France.

    “Nha Indimigo” continues Naka’s return to music, this time alongside Patche di Rima and with a familiar Guinean song at its centre.

    LODIC explores obsession and identity on “reflection”

    LODIC has released “reflection”, his 10th release, moving into darker electronic territory while exploring themes of obsession, identity and attachment.

    Released on August 12, the track centres on a narrator who becomes increasingly unable to separate himself from the object of his fixation. The idea of a reflection functions as both a literal image and a metaphor for an internal presence that becomes difficult to escape.

    “I followed my reflection / until I couldn’t walk away / I followed my reflection / knowing I shouldn’t have stayed,” LODIC sings.

    The production takes a darker and more atmospheric approach than the artist’s earlier electronic material, while melodic hooks remain central to the arrangement. The track moves between contrasting emotional states, including melancholy and euphoria, as the narrator confronts the relationship between attraction, identity and self-destruction.

    “reflection” forms part of LODIC’s ongoing exploration of identity, vulnerability and transformation, with the song leaving its central metaphor open to interpretation.

    Gidixol explores relationship questions on “Sativa”

    Lagos-based artist Gidixol has released “Sativa”, one half of his debut double single, “Sativa & Case Closed”.

    The Afro-Fusion track combines elements of Amapiano, Afrobeats and Afro Soul with conversational songwriting centred on a familiar relationship question: whether someone you’re interested in is already involved with someone else.

    Rather than approaching the situation through confrontation, Gidixol uses humour and everyday African storytelling to explore the uncertainty around pursuing someone whose relationship status is unclear. The song’s rhythmic production gives the subject a lighter setting while its lyrics deal with awareness, honesty and personal choices.

    “Sativa” is paired with “Case Closed”, a more reflective track addressing issues including economic hardship, unresolved problems and accountability from an everyday Nigerian perspective.

    Together, the two songs introduce Gidixol’s approach to Afro-Fusion, which draws on African pop rhythms and contemporary production while focusing on relationships and everyday experiences.

    Manchester singer-songwriter Mairose has released “IDWS”, an upbeat pop-dance track centred on self-worth and pursuing personal ambitions.

    Released on August 14, the song follows Mairose’s debut EP, My Next Chapter, which arrived in 2025 alongside the singles “Sunshine” and “Treat Your Woman Like a Queen”.

    In May 2026, Mairose made her debut live performance at Manchester’s Band on the Wall, where she performed “Sunshine”, her Afrobeats-influenced single.

    Lagos-based artist Boyloh has released “Two People”, a mid-tempo Afrobeats track centred on attraction, intimacy and appreciation of feminine beauty.

    Released on August 14, the song is built around a recurring saxophone melody and a percussion-led groove. Boyloh’s vocals carry the romantic lyrics, while the chorus relies on repetition to reinforce the song’s central theme of two people sharing an intimate moment.

    “Two People” is the lead single from Boyloh’s upcoming EP. The track sits within a familiar Afrobeats love-song framework, combining melodic vocals with a steady rhythmic arrangement and saxophone-led instrumentation.

    ODUMODUBLVCK reportedly faced an attempted arrest after performing at BOHO on Saturday morning.

    Daygenius, an associate of the rapper and podcaster, claimed in a post that individuals attempted to arrest ODUMODUBLVCK following his performance.

    According to Daygenius, the rapper presented a court document that prevented the arrest from going ahead. He also stated that the matter is already before the court and that ODUMODUBLVCK’s lawyers are handling it.

    The circumstances surrounding the reported incident, including the identity of those who allegedly attempted to make the arrest and the basis for it, have not been independently confirmed.

    Nigerian singer and producer Young Jonn has secured a United Kingdom visa after 10 years without being able to travel to the country.

    Young Jonn shared a screenshot of his visa approval email on social media, confirming that his UK visa application had been successful.

    The notice states that he has been granted entry clearance as a visitor from August 28, 2026, until February 28, 2027.

    His visa comes ahead of his scheduled performance at OVO Arena Wembley in London, marking his return to the UK after a decade.

    Seyi Vibez taps Burna Boy as executive producer for forthcoming album “Swaguu”

    Seyi Vibez has announced his forthcoming album, “Swaguu,” with Burna Boy attached as executive producer.

    The 14-track project is set for release on September 18.

    The album follows the pair’s 2023 collaboration on “Giza,” which appeared on Burna Boy’s “I Told Them…” album. Released in August 2023, the song featured Seyi Vibez and was later accompanied by a music video directed by TG Omori.

    Seyi Vibez released two albums in 2023, “Vibe Till Thy Kingdom Come” and “Thy Kingdom Come,” before following with “Loseyi Professor” in 2024 and “Fuji Moto” in 2025.

    “Swaguu” will mark Seyi Vibez’s latest full-length release. Further details about the album’s tracklist and Burna Boy’s contributions have not been disclosed.
