UK-based Nigerian Afrobeats artist BIDEX Dasolechild has released “Rock The Show”, a performance-inspired single centred on confidence, stage presence and the connection between musicians and their audiences.
Drawing on the excitement of live entertainment, the song explores the experience of stepping on stage, commanding attention and sharing the energy of a performance with a crowd. It also reflects BIDEX’s interest in combining his Nigerian musical roots with contemporary sounds, including Afrobeats and Amapiano.
Born Abidemi Ashaolu, BIDEX has built a live-performance profile in Scotland, appearing at events featuring Nigerian artists such as Ruger, Falz, Darkoo, 9ice and Seriki. His performance credits also include the AfroScot Festival in Edinburgh, the Refugee Festival in Glasgow and the Scotland Piano Tour.
Beyond the stage, the independent artist has recorded more than 100,000 streams on Spotify. His single “Free Madness (Sewere)” has received reviews from Illustrate Magazine, The Musical Road and Teethsound, as well as a mention in Wordplay Magazine. He was also nominated for Creative of the Year at the 2026 Black Scottish Awards.
On September 17, 2026, BIDEX received Arts Council England endorsement under the Global Talent visa’s Exceptional Promise route in Music, with a specialisation in Afrobeats and Amapiano.
“Rock The Show” joins a catalogue that includes “Free Madness (Sewere)”, “Iyalaya Swagger”, “Celebration”, “You Too Fine”, “Gbemi De Be” and “Tungba”. The release continues his exploration of African music influences and performance-led themes as he develops his work through his independent label, Dasolechild Records.
“Rock The Show” is available on streaming platforms.
