Wizkid has become the first African artist to surpass 12 billion streams on Spotify across all credits, marking another milestone in the Nigerian singer’s international streaming career. The achievement comes days after Drake’s “One Dance”, featuring Wizkid and Kyla, received a 15× Platinum certification in the United States.
The streaming milestone coincides with another achievement for “One Dance”, the 2016 hit by Drake featuring Wizkid and British singer Kyla. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the song 15× Platinum on 23 October, representing 15 million certified units in the United States. It is Wizkid’s first song to reach that certification level.
Released in April 2016, “One Dance” became a major international hit, spending 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track also played a significant role in bringing Wizkid’s sound to a wider global audience. A decade after its release, it remains one of his most-streamed collaborations, with more than 4.5 billion Spotify streams.
