Bistrot of art Releases New Single “Gravity”, which he Composed After Getting Lost on a Birthday Trip to Oman

British artist Bistrot of Art has shared his new single, “Gravity, or the starry night above Oman” from his 2018 EP Three Lost Drafts

The composer had never previously published the drafts which were written in 2018 on Sibelius and piano and lost to a broken hard drive.

The inspiration for the single was born from a trip to the stunning Alila Jabal Akhdar resort in Oman, a birthday gift to the artist from their girlfriend.

One evening, as the sun began to set over the dramatic landscape, the couple found themselves lost in a dried riverbed, with darkness falling fast.

With only the light from their phones to guide them, they navigated their way back towards the hotel under a vast and brilliant canopy of stars, a humbling and unforgettable experience that became the creative seed for the new track.

“Gravity, or the starry night above Oman”masterfully captures this scene. The music is both intimate and expansive, reflecting the feeling of being a small part of an immense and beautiful universe.

“We were starting to get worried about 6pm as the sun was getting lower and lower in the sky , but before we knew it we were out in the pitch dark making our way back to the hotel to the lights on our phones, it was terrifying and beautiful all at once,” says Alex. “There’s a unique feeling that comes with being truly lost, but then you look up and see this cosmic map laid out above you. All we could hear was the crunch of our feet on the gravel and our own breathing”.

    About Bistro of art:

Alex is British Neoclassical composer who composes under the name Bistrot of art, inspired by travels in the Middle East, Scandi and his time studying French art history.

Born in 1989, he  started playing piano at age 16 and wrote his first compositions shortly afterwards. He had a creative spell while living in Dubai for work, and released several pieces influenced by the Arabian starlit night sky. He takes breaks from composing, sometimes for years at a time, to draw deep inspiration and focus on other things but he always comes back refreshed with something new.

After a long break from composing he came back to another creative spell while on holiday in Nice where he finished writing drafts of several EPs.

“Music has a deep calming effect on me, medicinal even. I often keep working and reworking original ideas into different pieces that reflect my current mood. I would like to create more for piano and it’s my desire to write in a neoclassical style.”

  • LX8 Shares Afro House Remix of his Single  “Ghosts of Sound” Inspired by his Sci-fi Novel The PanHarmonion Chronicles

LX8 Shares Afro House Remix of his Single  “Ghosts of Sound” Inspired by his Sci-fi Novel The PanHarmonion Chronicles

French-British artist LX8 has just released an Afro House remix of his cult dance anthem GHOSTS OF SOUND.

The hip-swaying uplifting melodic techno track is part of his forthcoming double LP, a concept album steeped in the lore of the graphic novel series THE PANHARMONION CHRONICLES, also created and written by Henry Chebaane, the artist behind the LX8 (Life x Infinity) project.

The song “Ghosts of Sound” is the title of vol.2 in the graphic novel series, due to be published during Winter 2025 by Supanova Media. This second book and related songs follow on from the first novel TIMES OF LONDON, published in 2023.

THE PANHARMONION CHRONICLES narrate the story of Alex Campbell, a multi-cultural female music composer who struggles with a conflicted identity, a traumatic past and repressed supernatural abilities while fighting a violent supremacist cult through Time.

In the novel Ghosts of Sound, Alex – a DJ and EDM producer, travels back to the 19th century and uses electronic dance music to boost the courage of a community of immigrants fighting off a tyrannical imperialist power.

The novel is a blend of science-fiction, horror, and alternative history that invites questions about contemporary social issues; spiced by hints of humour, pop culture and references that will appeal to dance music lovers of all genres.

LX8 is the musical alias for French-British songwriter, artist, author and designer Henry Chebaane. Inspired by the example of film director John Carpenter who also produces music and comics, LX8 has started his own musical journey, and “Ghosts of Sound” was his debut single in 2023.

Since then, he has released several more tracks of dance music with a wide variety of melodic techno vibes.

A recent arrival on the EDM scene, LX8 music style defies easy description but can be summarised as a “sonic quest into the human consciousness and the nature of reality.” A fan of house and trance music of the last four decades, LX8 wants to keep these sounds alive and inclusive for a new generation of global listeners from all cultures.

As an award-winning multimedia storyteller, Henry Chebaane also produces and directs his own videos, often set in locations that he has designed himself.

His first graphic novel “The Panharmonion Chronicles: Times of London” was published in 2023 by Supanova Media and has become a cult thriller with electronic music fans. His next novel in the same series is “Ghosts of Sound”, which is also the title of a forthcoming double album.

The concept double LP is a sonic exploration of The Panharmonion Chronicles story and its speculative universe, blending euphoric music and melodic techno with dark cinema.

  • Edward Cross Shares New Single “Blooom” Which Began As An Improvised Piece

Edward Cross Shares New Single “Blooom” Which Began As An Improvised Piece

British Composer and multi-instrumentalist Edward Cross is back with a new piece “Bloom”  whic lh originally began as a spontaneous piano recording over a looping synth.

Keeping most of the original take, the South London native layered additional instruments using only what was on hand – clarinet, trombone, and piano – creating a sound uniquely personal.

With a background in jazz clarinet, subtle jazz influences weave through the composition.

The title “Bloom” reflects the piece’s gradual build, evoking the freshness of spring, new beginnings, and emerging from darkness into light.
