Singer Eylsia has returned to recording following a medical setback, releasing a new interpretation of “Where or When” that combines elements of her established EOP sound with a more rock-oriented arrangement.
The track brings together a vocal ensemble, guitars and a featured saxophone, shifting some of the orchestral elements of the original recording toward a live-band feel. Eylsia also incorporated elements of her 3D spatial sound patent to create the effect of a crowd responding to and repeating key phrases.
The recording began as a solo version, marking Eylsia’s return to singing after a hiatus. As her voice continues to recover, she said its more textured quality influenced her decision to explore a rock interpretation.
The song is also being considered for a performance sequence in the film adaptation of Eylsia’s book Hold On Another Day.
“Where or When” is available on streaming platforms.
