Crayon takes shots at Rema and Ayra Starr in series of X posts

Nigerian singer Crayon has taken aim at former labelmates Rema and Ayra Starr in a series of posts on X, making claims about his past relationships with the artists and London-based producer London.

Responding to a post about his friendship with Rema, whose real name is Divine Ikubor, Crayon claimed that he had sent the singer messages over a six-month period without receiving a response.

He also disputed suggestions that Rema had supported him during a difficult period, alleging that he had provided food for the singer when they lived together.

The exchange escalated after a fan accused Crayon of being ungrateful to Rema, claiming the singer had previously helped him. Crayon rejected the accusation and referenced lyrics from Rema’s music in another post, adding that the two were no longer on good terms.

Crayon also directed several comments at Ayra Starr, making derogatory remarks about her while comparing her music with that of other Nigerian female artists. He later insisted that he respected the singer and would never touch her inappropriately.

In a separate series of posts, Crayon addressed London, claiming he had brought the producer from Kaduna in 2019 and had also sent him apology messages that went unanswered.

The posts have brought renewed attention to Crayon’s relationships with people he previously worked with at Mavin Records. He recently left the label after several years on its roster, with his latest comments adding another chapter to the fallout.
