Guadeloupean composer and songwriter Alex Alidor has released “FOR THE DRUM,” a track drawing on traditional Caribbean rhythms and Latin-influenced brass arrangements.
The song combines Creole lyrics with Antillean syncopation, drawing on musical styles including biguine and Afro-tropical rhythms. Its arrangement also incorporates elements associated with 1960s ballroom music and vintage Latin American big bands.
Alidor’s work draws from the musical traditions of Guadeloupe and the wider French Antilles. “FOR THE DRUM” has received early radio support from Power Ace Radio.
“FOR THE DRUM” is available on streaming platforms.
