Tems was among the star-studded lineup of artists who paid tribute to legendary singer and rapper Lauryn Hill at the 2026 BET Awards.

The Grammy-winning Nigerian singer joined SZA, Queen Latifah, Common, Doja Cat, Tierra Whack, Lizzo, Rapsody, Selah Marley and Nas for a medley celebrating Hill’s iconic catalog. Tems and Tierra Whack teamed up to perform the Fugees classic “Fu-Gee-La.”

Earlier in the night, Tems also performed her hit single “What You Need.” The performance was later ranked by Billboard as the sixth-best non-tribute performance of the evening.

Tems received three nominations at this year’s BET Awards but did not take home a trophy.
