Ship Says Om and Emma Lucia introduce collaborative EP with ambient single “Water Prayer”

Ship Says Om and Swedish singer Emma Lucia have released “Water Prayer,” the first single from their forthcoming collaborative EP Djuphjärtad, due on July 17 via Native Cat Recordings.

The instrumental piece blends ambient synthesizers, acoustic instrumentation, and field recordings—including birdsong, wind, water, and woodland sounds—to create an immersive listening experience inspired by the natural world. “Water Prayer” introduces the EP’s contemplative atmosphere while reflecting the duo’s shared interest in organic textures and experimental composition.

The collaboration began in Berkeley, California, where Emma Lucia invited Ship Says Om’s Jenny Gillespie Mason to reimagine several of her songs with a more atmospheric approach. Together, they created Djuphjärtad (“deep-hearted”), a collection that moves between intimate songs about new love and meditative, nature-inspired compositions.

“Water Prayer” is out now on streaming platforms.

American Folk Singer Ship Says Om Shares New Single “Samadhi” off her EP ‘Dream Journal’

A new offering from Jenny Gillespie Mason (Ship Says Om )the singer/multi-instrumentalist behind Sis and the Lower Wisdom, Dream Journal is a collection of six ambient folk-influenced tracks, drawing from shamanic, Celtic, and global sounds, infusing it with the depth and solace of a psychedelic guided-therapy playlist.

Time-dilated vocal traces drift through “Samadhi,” where field recordings and blurred piano motifs create a meditative entryway into translucent synth-inspired hues and gentle strumming.
