British drum & bass artist Al-Bé has released “Slept Through”, a new chilled D&B track built around atmospheric production and introspective storytelling.
The song combines airy pads, deep sub-bass, and rolling percussion to tell the story of a man drifting through life, with the line “Rip Van Winkle slept through his life” acting as a recurring theme throughout the record. The vocals move between reflective and raw moments while the production remains smooth, hypnotic, and melodic.
Drawing from cinematic and liquid drum & bass influences, the release focuses on emotion and storytelling over aggressive production styles.
“Slept Through” by Al-Bé is out now on all streaming platforms.
British artist Sam Way has released 5th version of his work “Alchemy”, which takes the lyrics in a form of spoken word and delivers them wrapped about anevolving piano composition.
The track is made for late night studies, looking out the window in a car and reflecting of your life and choices, a cinematic and profound inquiry into transformational power of art and the healing element of the creative expression.
Featuring Julian Marley, ArrDee, Ramz and more, the 9-track LP debuts A!MS’ new ‘Global Street’ sound, channeling the rebellious spirit of pirate radio while fusing it with his Mediterranean cultural roots and Cypriot/Lebanese/Italian DNA.
Global Street, or Street Global, “depending how street or how global you want it to sound” is a new genre for the outsiders, a sound identity for those beyond traditional industry definitions. Rooted in hip hop and UK garage, A!MS says “it’s built for the
creators of today – influencers, streamers, sneaker collectors, and more – and shaped by the idea that the next global star can come from anywhere. It’s a genre that breaks the limits others try to impose, where music is timeless, art is limitless, and the power is back in the hands of the people.”
Co-produced hitmaking duo Cool & Dre, the album also boasts productions credits from Antaeus, Michelin Shin, Golden and others
The project comes to life through a series of star-studded tracks; ‘Light & Love’, a collaboration with the iconic Julian Marley, Antaeus, and Hypertone, delivers a bold message of unity and upliftment. Another highlight is ‘Need Somebody’ with UK chart-topper ArrDee, oozing with infectious Afrobeat energy.
The Peak Season album was made in Cyprus, a place described by A!MS as a “music industry desert”. This gave A!MS space away from London’s hustle to find his own sound.
He describes it as his version of what Jamaica was for Bob Marley: a creative haven, free from noise and influence, where something truly global could be born.
In the build-up to the album this summer, A!MS is once again hosting a series of his hugely popular Wave Fests at WaterWorld WaterPark in A!MS’ current base of Ayia Napa in Cyprus. This year, revellers will be treated to sets by ‘Need Somebody’ feature artist ArrDee, Lil Pump, B Young, Dappy, Oxlade, Ramz, Wiley, ZieZie and A!MS himself. This unique multi-sensory event boasts The Biggest Sound System in the Mediterranean and has received TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Award.

The composer had never previously published the drafts which were written in 2018 on Sibelius and piano and lost to a broken hard drive.
The inspiration for the single was born from a trip to the stunning Alila Jabal Akhdar resort in Oman, a birthday gift to the artist from their girlfriend.
One evening, as the sun began to set over the dramatic landscape, the couple found themselves lost in a dried riverbed, with darkness falling fast.
With only the light from their phones to guide them, they navigated their way back towards the hotel under a vast and brilliant canopy of stars, a humbling and unforgettable experience that became the creative seed for the new track.
“Gravity, or the starry night above Oman”masterfully captures this scene. The music is both intimate and expansive, reflecting the feeling of being a small part of an immense and beautiful universe.
“We were starting to get worried about 6pm as the sun was getting lower and lower in the sky , but before we knew it we were out in the pitch dark making our way back to the hotel to the lights on our phones, it was terrifying and beautiful all at once,” says Alex. “There’s a unique feeling that comes with being truly lost, but then you look up and see this cosmic map laid out above you. All we could hear was the crunch of our feet on the gravel and our own breathing”.
About Bistro of art:
Alex is British Neoclassical composer who composes under the name Bistrot of art, inspired by travels in the Middle East, Scandi and his time studying French art history.
Born in 1989, he started playing piano at age 16 and wrote his first compositions shortly afterwards. He had a creative spell while living in Dubai for work, and released several pieces influenced by the Arabian starlit night sky. He takes breaks from composing, sometimes for years at a time, to draw deep inspiration and focus on other things but he always comes back refreshed with something new.
After a long break from composing he came back to another creative spell while on holiday in Nice where he finished writing drafts of several EPs.
“Music has a deep calming effect on me, medicinal even. I often keep working and reworking original ideas into different pieces that reflect my current mood. I would like to create more for piano and it’s my desire to write in a neoclassical style.”
