    Berryhud Releases R&B/Soul Single “Journey Not Funny”

    Berryhud has released a new single, “Journey Not Funny,” an R&B/Soul song that reflects on the difficulties involved in pursuing success.

    The track sits within the Nigerian independent artist’s broader catalogue, which includes “Money on My Mind” featuring American singer T-Rell, “Alubarika,” “Imagine” and “Time.” While Berryhud’s music also draws from Afrobeats and Amapiano, “Journey Not Funny” takes a more R&B/Soul-oriented approach.

    Born Arowosola Toba Victor, Berryhud began making music at 23, initially recording songs on his phone while learning production and beat-making. He now releases music independently through his label, Behood Movic.

    His songwriting frequently touches on ambition, financial growth, faith, relationships and the challenges of trying to build a career from the ground up.

    Those themes also inform “Journey Not Funny,” whose title points to the less straightforward side of that process.

    Nigerian producer EazyPro has released a new single, “Gimme,” following his 2025 EP “FOE” and the single “Chance” with Nelson Amazing.

    His “FOE” EP, released in July 2025, featured tracks including “Kryptonite” with Chief Double G, “Best Life” with Maleeq Souls, “Fais Ta Vie” with Beezee and Shogzi, and “Say Less” with Syre The King.

    Irish artist Onai has released “When U Home,” an electronic instrumental that follows a run of releases including “Wendys Homecoming,” “Want You,” “Frame of Mind” and “Slightly Feeling It.”

    The new track continues Onai’s focus on electronic music without relying on vocals or lyrics. Instead, the production carries the track, placing it within the producer-led side of contemporary dance and electronic music.

  • R4IZES Releases Portuguese-Language Single “Quero Poder Voar”

    R4IZES has released a new single, “Quero Poder Voar,” a Portuguese-language song that explores the desire for freedom and escape from difficult circumstances.

    The song moves at 92 BPM, with a restrained arrangement featuring kora and djembé. Its lyrics revolve around the image of flight, using the idea of rising and letting go as a way of expressing a desire to move beyond what feels limiting.

    “Quero Poder Voar” draws from the Afro-Lusophone tradition while fitting within R4IZES’ broader work across afro-soul, kizomba, afro house and kuduro.

    The independent project is based near Lisbon and releases music primarily in Portuguese.

    Aliu has released a new single, “Body Whine,” continuing a run of releases from the French-Nigerian independent artist.

    The song follows several releases from Aliu in 2026, including “I CARE,” “Paranoia,” “Hands in the sky,” “All burn down” and “I HATE YOU.”

    Aliu describes his approach to music as being centred on good vibes, fun and creating moments listeners can connect with.
