Detroit electronic producer jcSubterfuge has released “Higher Groove Rating”, a jungle track drawing on classic 1990s breakbeats and contemporary electronic production.
The track combines chopped breakbeats, deep sub-bass and atmospheric passages, creating a contrast between slower, shadowy sections and faster rhythmic sequences.
“Higher Groove Rating” draws from Detroit’s electronic music heritage while incorporating elements associated with jungle, Drum & Bass and breakbeat.
The production also uses changes in rhythm and dynamics to move between spacious atmospheric passages and more densely layered breakbeat sections.
“Higher Groove Rating” is available on streaming platforms.
