Dandizzy faces backlash after inviting Seyi Tinubu on stage in Port Harcourt

Nigerian rapper Dandizzy has faced criticism on social media after inviting Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, on stage during a performance in Port Harcourt.

In a video circulating online, the rapper, known for his freestyle performances, called Seyi on stage and said he wanted to speak to him “from the bottom of my heart”. He then asked the president’s son to explain his father’s plans for Nigeria’s younger generation.

“Look as I dey here like this, I know say dem go drag me tomorrow. But I want to hear from you about the plans your daddy has for the leaders of tomorrow,” Dandizzy said.

The rapper later shared the encounter on social media with the caption: “Met Seyi Tinubu one on one. I tell am my mind as I dey work for my money too!!!!”

The interaction has drawn mixed reactions, with some social media users accusing Dandizzy of secretly endorsing the Tinubu administration despite the apparent criticism in his remarks. Others have questioned the decision to give the president’s son a platform during the performance.

Dandizzy appeared to anticipate the backlash, acknowledging during the exchange that he expected to be criticised afterwards. However, his comments about wanting to hear the government’s plans for young Nigerians have not stopped the debate over the encounter.

The rapper, whose real name is Daniel Tuotamuno, is known for his freestyle rap performances and has built a following through his ability to improvise lyrics in front of audiences.
