Janis Park traces the journey of “Disco Fever” from K-pop demo to Sony Music Publishing Korea release

Janis Park has released “Disco Fever,” a nu-disco-inspired single that began as a songwriting demo for a K-pop publishing audition before eventually being signed by Sony Music Publishing Korea.

Drawing inspiration from Nile Rodgers, the Bee Gees, and BoA, the track blends electropop, disco, and retro video game-inspired production into a nostalgic yet contemporary sound. Originally written while Park was living in Seoul, “Disco Fever” gained momentum after early demos resonated with listeners, ultimately leading to a collaboration with Korean producer DK and an official release.

According to Park, the song’s journey included several setbacks before finding a path to publication in South Korea. The experience has since become the foundation for a new creative chapter, with plans to continue exploring nu-disco, K-pop influences, and personal storytelling in future releases.

“Disco Fever” is out now on streaming platforms.
