    Davido Reproposes to Chioma in ‘Already Falling’ Music Video

    Davido has released the music video for “Already Falling,” featuring his wife, Chioma Adeleke. The video revisits the couple’s relationship, with the singer proposing to Chioma again in a scene that echoes his original proposal in 2019.

    The release adds to the couple’s appearances in Davido’s music videos, following “Assurance,” released in 2018, and “1 Milli,” released in 2020. Both videos featured Chioma and centred on their relationship.

    “Assurance” arrived as Davido publicly celebrated their relationship, while “1 Milli” explored themes of commitment and marriage. The new video continues that thread, placing their relationship at the centre of the visuals.

    Davido and Chioma first met in 2013 while he was studying at Babcock University. Their relationship became publicly known in 2018, and Davido proposed to her in London in September 2019.

    The couple legally married in March 2023, held their traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024, and celebrated their white wedding in Miami, Florida, in August 2025. The Miami ceremony brought together family, friends and guests from the entertainment industry.

    “Already Falling” was released as a song on July 31, 2026. Its music video places Chioma alongside Davido once again, with the renewed proposal serving as a central moment in the visuals.

    Kirk Franklin Announces Davido Collaboration “Hope in You”

    American gospel musician Kirk Franklin is set to release “Hope in You”, a collaboration with Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido, on Friday.

    The upcoming song brings together two artists from different musical backgrounds, pairing Franklin’s gospel roots with Davido’s Afrobeats sound. The collaboration is expected to feature on Franklin’s forthcoming album.

    The announcement introduces a cross-genre link between contemporary gospel and Afrobeats, two styles that have increasingly found connections through themes of faith, hope and personal experience.

    Franklin is known for his role in modernising gospel music through a combination of choir arrangements, contemporary production and elements of hip-hop and R&B. Davido, meanwhile, has built an international career through Afrobeats releases including “Fall”, “Unavailable” and “Feel”.

    Davido submits “Oriadé” and four songs for 2027 Grammy consideration

    Nigerian singer Davido has submitted his album “Oriadé” and four songs for consideration in multiple categories at the 2027 Grammy Awards, according to a list shared by The Grammy Guru.

    “Oriadé,” released on July 31, 2026, was submitted for Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album and Best Album Cover. The 13-track album draws on Afrobeats and other influences, with songs including “B4 B4,” featuring Mayorkun and FOLA, and “Nakupenda.”

    “B4 B4” was submitted for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance. “Nakupenda” was submitted for Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance, while “Le Show” was entered in the Best African Music Performance category. “I Know Who I Be” was submitted for Best Music Video.

    These entries are submissions for consideration, not confirmed nominations. According to the Recording Academy, submissions are reviewed for eligibility before voting members determine the nominees. The 2027 Grammy nominations are scheduled to be announced on November 16, 2026, ahead of the ceremony on February 7, 2027, in Los Angeles.

    Babcock University to name new music complex after Davido

    Babcock University is set to launch the David Adeleke School of Music and Performing Arts Complex, named after Nigerian singer Davido, with completion scheduled for 2028.

    Davido shared an image of the proposed building on his Instagram Story. The singer graduated from Babcock University in 2015, where he studied music.

    The complex will house the university’s music and performing arts department.
