Lagos-based Nigerian singer, songwriter and chanter Ade Spencer has released “Gratitude Is a Must,” a five-track EP released through independent label Broken Natives.

The project centres on themes of reflection, resilience and appreciation, with Spencer bringing together contemporary Afrobeats rhythms, dance-oriented production and introspective lyricism. Across the EP, he explores the importance of remembering where you started while navigating personal growth and life in the music industry.

“Gratitude Is a Must” features five tracks: “Foreva,” “Cast a Stone,” “All Ryt,” “Bless” featuring Ice Prince, and “Move.”

The project follows Spencer’s earlier releases “Natty” and “Perspectives” and continues his approach to combining rhythmic African influences with soul, dance and poetic songwriting.

Speaking about the EP, Spencer describes it as a reflection of where he is at this point in his life, with gratitude serving as a central idea throughout the project. The songs balance music made for movement with lyrics focused on personal experience and perspective.
