Stuttgart-based artist FAWO has released “Pourquoi,” an Afropop single that combines R&B and melodic rap with German verses and a French chorus.
The song explores the feeling of missing someone even when the separation has been brief. Rather than presenting longing as heartbreak, FAWO approaches it with a lighter perspective, capturing how a few days apart can feel disproportionately long.
“Pourquoi” moves between Afropop, R&B and melodic rap, with its bilingual structure forming part of the song’s musical identity. FAWO wrote, produced and mixed the track himself.
Born in Togo and raised in Germany, FAWO incorporates German, French and African musical influences into his work, with a sound that draws from melodic hip-hop, trap, R&B and Afropop.
