Australian d composer, performer and producer Ade Vincent has released “I Am the Arrow,” the first single from his forthcoming album, “A.WAKE,” due in early 2027.
The track combines neoclassical composition, electronic production, piano, recorders and wordless vocals. Its percussion was created largely from the piano itself, using its interior, muted strings and wooden frame.
The piano has a personal history for Vincent. He inherited it from his father in early 2024 during the final months of his life. His father had previously inherited the instrument from Vincent’s grandfather, who purchased it in the 1920s. The instrument became central to the writing and recording of “A.WAKE.”
Vincent also incorporates recorders into the project after experimenting with the instrument during its development. He previously trained as a recorder player before moving into songwriting and composition.
“I Am the Arrow” was written, recorded and produced by Vincent, with mixing by Hadyn Buxton and mastering by Lachlan Carrick.
